About me

Hello there. I'm Ryan.

I am a software engineer. I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Software Engineering. I have been programming professionally for over 20 years.

I started out as a Java developer writing J2EE services for companies like Appligent, Siemens, and Comcast. While I was a Java developer, I learned iOS development on my own.

Since 2010, I've focused on mobile engineering and iOS specifically. I’ve been written mobile apps for NAVTEQ (Nokia), Barclaycard US, Comcast Interactive Media, Warner Bros. Digital Labs, and Slice. I’ve led high-profile iOS projects for both Comcast and Warner Bros. Digital Labs including Xfinity Home, DC Universe, and Boomerang. The iOS App Store has featured both DC Universe and Boomerang multiple times.

I also like to have at least one side project. I use side projects to learn and explore areas of iOS that I don't get to work on during my day job. I've launched a number of the side projects as apps in the iOS (and macOS) App Stores.

About the site

This is my site. I've been running it for over 20 years now. For most of that time, the site has been a blog in one form or another. I haven't been very diligent about posting to the blog, but who knows, maybe I'll get better about it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Instead of using some prebuilt template for the site, I built this version from scratch. I do rely heavily on Bootstrap to help make the site responsive and good looking.
